Dr. John Mullen

Dr. Mullen was born in Rochester, New York. He quickly established himself as class clown early in elementary school, and loves making people laugh to this day. He credits his Catholic education for his morals and involvement in community service. (He now attends Good Soil Church with his friend and mentor Dr. David Smith). He worked in his family’s pizzeria regularly as a child/adolescent, learning a strong work ethic. He then attended Genesee Community College while working as an EMT and volunteering as a firefighter. He regularly was assigned to the President’s list there and participated in the honors program. He is a trained HAZMAT technician and rescue technician. He was also an active member of a Firefighter Assist and Search Team, designed specifically to retrieve any downed or in distress firefighters. Additionally, he deployed as part of a New York State Storm Emergency Fire Unit to towns ravaged by floods. He then attended SUNY Geneseo where he majored in sociology and minored in biology, child development and psychology. He is a member of the international honors societies for two-year colleges, sociology, psychology, and biology. He attended LECOM at Seton Hill obtaining a doctorate of osteopathic medicine. During his rotations, he realized his ability to de-escalate situations from his 10 years of EMS and fire service experiences made him innately able to calm children and parents. His residency is currently being finished at Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee Florida. Given his success working with families with complex logistical issues and in high stress situations, he decided to pursue a career as a concierge pediatrician. He prides himself on taking his time and thoroughly addressing any concerns. He is frequently seen doing magic tricks, slapstick comedy, firing Pokémon cards into the air, and anything else to make kids have a great experience. He says that “lots of people can be doctors, making people laugh and feel heard is much, much harder. Having an actual relationship with families and following up on everything frequently is a lost art. This isn’t a 9 to 5 for me, its a calling like being a priest or a minister.” He currently resides in West Palm Beach and enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, Stephanie, and their two dogs, Ash and Misty.
