“Finally theres a pediatrician who didnt just choose a career, the career chose him. Knowing John for years in emergency medical services, I have had the opportunity to not just see, but to work with John in action. Serious and focused when that is needed, gentle and humerous when that is the best medicine.
Through every kind of call, from car accidents to overdose, cardiac to mental health and all calls in between, I never had to worry about getting the job done, as John is one of those unique individuals who lends himself to every situation wholly and appropriately, but where John shines is with the sick and injured pediatrics.
Pediatrics is a whole separate aspect of medicine, learning how to cope, communicate and treat a patient who has little or no inderstanding of what is wrong…just that they arent well. John naturally and seamlessly connects with these challenging patients, and found a balance that keeps both patients and parents calm. “Dr. John Mullen is Amazing. I was pregnant, expecting my first child when my husband and I met him. His concierge style pediatrics is what drew me to make that phone call. He truly cares about his patients. For new expecting parents he has virtual classes you can join to better prepare you for your journey as new parents. As a new parent, being able to have access to a pediatrician 24/7 is something most people dream of. Also, the fact that he comes to your house for the first year of your child's life is truly a blessing. No one wants to leave the house for an appointment after giving birth, navigating the new life of being a parent, juggling sleep deprivation, feeding on time, getting baby to nap,etc. Dr. Mullen will take the time to thoroughly explain things to you and if you have differing opinions he will actually listen to you and give you the opportunity to make autonomous informed choices for your family. “John is an amazing person and friend! Our paths crossed (both in a good way and bad) back in April of 2011 one morning. That morning I was on my way to work and someone was on their way home from a night shift and fell asleep at the wheel and we collided head on. John was one of the first responders to arrive at the scene of the accident. Now I don’t remember too much due to the trauma from my injuries that I sustained, but John was able to calmly provide what care he could during a time in which I was bleeding out and screaming in pain! He kept me calm and alert while other first responders assessed how to treat me and remove me from my car. He was in the car with me. This was no easy task since the engine of my car had pushed the dash on to my lap and I was trapped and bleeding out of my leg where I had a compound fracture that had severed my artery in my leg. Not to mention once John found out what my name was he realized he knew my aunt and other family members of mine well. After I was removed from my car I was mercy flighted to the hospital! I had a grueling 2 month period where I fought for my life in a medical induced coma while in the ICU and then spent the next 6-9 months learning how to walk again. John would check in with my aunt on how I was doing in the hospital frequently. Once I was out of the hospital he attended a fundraiser that was thrown for me to help with medical expenses and we became close friends after talking about my accident. Even though at the time I didn’t remember talking to him while I was trapped in my car. lol.
I am very happy that our paths crossed that morning even though it wasn’t ideally under the best circumstances!

“Dr. John was my son’s doctor while he was in the hospital for severe pneumonia. To say it was one of the scariest moments I’ve had as a parent is an understatement. “John is a family friend that I have known all my life. I know he cares about the job he does, which is exceedingly rare these days. Recently my granddaughter was sick and in the ICU. He was available with any questions my husband, my mom, or I had. He checked up on us and even sent us informative blurbs about her conditions. “I’ve known John for many years now. I went to medical school with him and we often studied for exams together. He’s incredibly intelligent and very dedicated to his profession. He was and is the type of friend that will help you in any way he can and that’s exactly why when my child had a concerning cough I called up my old friend and he was able to quickly get to the correct diagnosis and prescribed the needed treatment. In a matter of 24 hours my little one was back to herself and I was finally able to get a good nights rest! If you ever get the chance to have one of your children under his care you will quickly find out that he isn’t just your pediatrician, he will be a trusted friend who will help you with whatever he can.
